Handspinning Equipment and Accessories

The following are equipments and descriptions which beginners might enjoy browsing through. I use Louet equipments here as I feel that they are a company who manufactures quality equipments at reasonable prices. I recommend them highly.

Louet Spinning Wheels

S10/S15 Spinning Wheel: The original Louet wheel, finished with minor modifications to keep it on the leading edge of spinning technology. Sold separately and included in this picture are the Louet distaff, skeinwinder, drop spindle, and extra lazy kate. The S15 Spinning Wheel is similar, solid but unfinished allowing you to create your own unique finish.
S10 single treadle

**S10 Spinning Wheel: similar to the S15 shown with only one bobbin and no lazy kate rack. It also requires a little more assembly than the other wheels do.

S51 Spinning Wheel: The S51 combines the durable engineering of the S10 with a spoked wheel for a traditional look.

S51 Double Treadle Spinning Wheel: The S51 DT is simply the S51 converted into a double treadle wheel. Very popular.

S90 Wheel

S90 Spinning Wheel: The S90 is nicknamed the "Ultimate wheel". It spins smoothly and folds up for portability. A real treasure!

Custom spun yarns

S87 Saxony Wheel: A traditional style wheel. It is designed for fine spinning, and once worked in, spins beautifully. It is available as a left or right hand spinner.

S75 DT (Double Treadle) Spinning Wheel: The popular Exerciser wheel is available as an unfinished model or a lacquered model. It is one of the double treadle series. The S75 is an unfinished wheel with a traditional spoke appearance but with modern technology.

S76 DT Spinning Wheel: This wheel is exactly like the S75 DT, only it has a clear lacquered finish.

S77 DT Spinning Wheel: The S77 DT is nicknamed the Exerciser wheel since it has a double treadle, "bicycle" style treadling action. Both feet move independently in opposite directions. The wheel is finished in a light brown lacquer.

Carding Equipments:

Various carding equipments. Front - roving carder; standard carder. Back - carding board, flick carder, wool hand carders.

Electric Carder with Motor. This can also come with a foot peddle.
